UnityPoint offers dementia prevention program in Muscatine

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Learn more about dementia prevention through a free community presentation “Social Isolation & Memory” from 5:30-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, at the Muscatine Community School District Administration Building, Muskie Room, 2900 Mulberry Ave.

The session is part of a dementia series aimed to educate the community on important health topics and prevention methods tied to memory loss, according to a news release.

“Connecting with others is more important than you think. When people are socially isolated, it can not only make you feel sad or sick, but it can also affect your memory,” Dr. Hamid Sagha with UnityPoint Clinic Mulberry – Internal Medicine, said in the release. “During the presentation, you will learn how social isolation can impact brain function and what we can do about it.”

Admission is free. To register, visit here, call (563) 264-9482, or email Angelia.Koppe@unitypoint.org.
