UnityPoint Health’s on-demand virtual care offerings are expanding to patients located in Illinois, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Patients at least 2 years old living in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska or South Dakota are now able to access on-demand care virtually with UnityPoint Clinic providers for treatment of many common conditions and ailments, UnityPoint Health said in a news release.

There are two options available every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., SmartExam and virtual urgent care. Both virtual care options are accessible through MyUnityPoint.

SmartExam included

SmartExam is an online screening tool that asks questions based on your symptoms and answers to previous questions. Within one hour, a UnityPoint Clinic provider reviews your information and recommends a care plan. It is $30 out-of-pocket; insurance is not accepted. Virtual urgent care offers a video visit with a provider to discuss your symptoms and a care plan.

“Expanding our virtual care options to Illinois speaks volumes about our dedication to patient care,” said Dr. Shawn Keeven, vice president and medical director of UnityPoint Clinic. “With virtual care now available in Illinois, we’re able to deliver timely, compassionate care to even more patients.”

Not all conditions can be treated through a virtual visit, and some restrictions apply for certain age groups. For more information on all options and treatment capabilities, visit unitypoint.org/virtualcare.
