MUSCATINE, Iowa – Trinity Muscatine Public Health now is offering free measles vaccines to Muscatine County residents of all ages, regardless of insurance.
To schedule an appointment for vaccination, call Trinity Muscatine Public Health at (563) 263-0122. The site, located at 1609 Cedar St., is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“Everyone should be aware of its symptoms and how it spreads, as it’s a highly contagious disease for the unvaccinated,” said Jennifer Craft, Trinity Muscatine Public Health director.
“Measles is preventable through vaccination and is the best way to ensure you, your family and those around you don’t get sick.”
A full series of MMR vaccination (two doses of vaccine) is 97% effective and provides a lifetime of protection for most people, Trinity Muscatine said.
