It’s a top-notch place,” said Silvis Mayor Matt Carter during the brief ceremony held in Empire’s Social Room.He added that Empire, which opened in April and had a grand-opening ceremony at that time, is a $4.4 million investment in the community, and it is a welcome addition to the Silvis area.Empire features 27 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. It also includes amenities such as a woodworking room, gardening and crafts room, a pub, fitness room, garages for residents, a guest suite for visiting family members and friends, and much more. Continental breakfast is served in the Social Room Monday through Friday.More features are in the works. The facility’s leaders are looking to add more features outside, plus they will visit with residents to see what social events they would like to see take place at Empire, said Deb Parker, director of property management for CT Creek, the management company for Empire.“Empire communities provide adults a worry-free lifestyle and first class amenities, and an active peer community. Empire Living offers freedom and flexibility without the hassle of home repairs and maintenance,” according to Empire’s website.Empire-Silvis – a senior housing community for people 55 years old and older – has 27 apartments. Empire officials would like to see more move in, but they understand that it takes time for some people to make that big move because downsizing can be a slow process.“I’ve had people visit here three times before they decide to make the move. … But once they are here, they love the place,” Ms. Parker said.Family members also love the services provided at Empire.
