
Three Davenport businesses and one in Clinton were among the 43 loans totalling $16,350,600 approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Iowa offices in December.
In Clinton County, Shivaya LLC received a $1.96 million for a hotel or motel in Clinton that is expected to help retain 13 jobs.
In Davenport, two unnamed beauty salons also received SBA loans last month. That included $24,000 for a new salon expected to employ six people and $10,000 to retain a single job at an existing salon.
The Iowa SBA also approved $20,000 in December for an existing business related to real estate that is expected to retain one job and add three more.
In all, the SBA 7(a) and 504 programs capitalized 25 new and 18 existing businesses statewide that report creating 111 new jobs and retaining 247 jobs as a result.
