The Last Picture House announced the opening of The Rooftop, a combined outdoor cinema and lounge above the 325 E. 2nd St., Davenport, theater. The Rooftop is open seven days a week, weather permitting, until mid-fall.
The family-friendly venue offers views of the Mississippi River and downtown Davenport. A full bar serves cocktails, mocktails and frozen beverages.
Ticketed film screenings will take place Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays beginning at sundown. The 2025 season opens with sold-out screenings of “Star Wars” from Thursday, May 1, through Saturday, May 3.
Upcoming May screenings include “The Princess Bride,” “The Big Lebowski,” “Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom,” and “Shrek 2.” Tickets can be purchased online and in the lobby.
The Rooftop also will host free daily events (excluding ticketed screenings) such as trivia, and film and sporting events shown on a large screen and televisions. “There Will Be Bloody Marys,” a build-your-own Bloody Mary and mimosa bar, will be held 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Operating hours are: 3 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Fridays and Saturday; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to midnight. For more information, visit lastpicturehouse.com/the-rooftop.
