The Blessing Tree tradition returns to Downtown Bettendorf for its 27th year, offering the Quad Cities community a meaningful way to honor loved ones during the holiday season.

Located at Be the Light pocket park – between Grant and State streets, the 32-foot tree will once again serve as a symbol of love, remembrance and celebration.

Individuals can sponsor a light, bow or ornament in memory of, in celebration of, or in gratitude for someone special. Tributes are more than gifts; they are lasting and meaningful ways to honor those who have shaped our lives.

    Sponsorship options include:

    • Light – $10.
    • Bow – $30.
    • Ornament – $50.

Each dedication will be featured on The Blessing Tree webpage, updated weekly, and a Holiday Blessing card will be sent to the honoree or their family, sharing the heartfelt tribute.

The community is invited to a special lighting ceremony from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2. The evening will include cocoa, cookies, carols and community. Names of honorees will be read at 6:15 p.m., followed by the lighting of The Blessing Tree at 6:30 p.m.

The tree will remain on display and shine warmly through Jan. 1.

To ensure cards arrive in time for the holidays, tributes should be submitted by Wednesday, Dec. 17. Cards will be mailed to the honorees on or before Monday, Dec. 22. To make a contribution online click here.

Organizers extend a special thanks to Ascentra Credit Union, Downtown Bettendorf Organization, and the City of Bettendorf for their sponsorship and support of The Blessing Tree.
