The appropriately named Jim Victor JA Finance Park

CREDIT JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF THE HEARTLAND

We congratulate Junior Achievement of the Heartland for naming its Finance Park program area at the new JA Inspiration Center, which will open later this year, after Jim Victor, the late financial advisor and Quad Cities leader.

“We are delighted to announce this naming that commemorates the outstanding contribution and commitment of local entrepreneur, Jim Victor, to the mission of financial education and youth empowerment through Junior Achievement learning experiences,” JA of the Heartland said in a news release.

The new JA Inspiration Center is being built at Vibrant Credit Union’s new headquarters in Moline. It will house some of JA’s programming including two capstone programs: Jim Victor JA Finance Park and JA BizTown. Now under construction in the former Sam’s Club warehouse, the new center is expected to be open in October.

We couldn’t think of a better name for this important educational facility that will buttress Mr. Victor’s passion for financial literacy and community leadership.

Mr. Victor served as the executive director, financial advisor and senior portfolio management director for the Victor/Volrath group at Morgan Stanley in Davenport when he died at age 71 in July of 2018 in a race-car accident.

After Mr. Victor’s death, his philanthropy continued to thrive through his estate, which left support for Junior Achievement and a host of other Quad City institutions.

Over the years, Mr. Victor was a JA board member, donor and volunteer. He served on JA’s Free Enterprise Foundation board and was instrumental in helping secure the Folwell Education Center for Free Enterprise. It houses JA’s offices in Moline.

In 2023, he was inducted posthumously in the Quad Cities Area Business Hall of Fame. He also was the title sponsor of the Jim Victor Golf Classic, which now is known as the Jim Victor Memorial JA Golf Classic.

He also won the Gold Star award from JA USA, the highest honor a JA volunteer or donor can receive.

A new financial HQ

Another financial advisor and regional leader also is cementing her mark with a new headquarters in the Quad Cities.

Heidi Husikamp, the owner and founder of Huiskamp Collins Investments, LLC, celebrated the recent groundbreaking of her new headquarters in Davenport near ImpactLife.

“Building a permanent home for our team is such an important juncture in the business’ journey,” Ms. Huiskamp Collins said. “It represents a special way that we will be able to show up for our community, our employees and our clients, whom we consider to be our family. It is also the culmination of a dream I have had for many years of having a space dedicated to empowering women’s financial futures, serving them and the people they love.”

Ms. Huiskamp founded Huiskamp Collins in 2017 after many years of experience in banking and financial services.

Congratulations on this new headquarters.
