The fourth annual Taste of East Moline – a fundraiser to help East Moline projects – is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Rust Belt in East Moline.

Money raised will support the  East Moline Community Fund and other projects. That fund, founded in 2011, is a nonprofit group created to build charitable resources dedicated to strengthening the community.

Some of the nonprofits it supports include: Habitat for Humanity, Spring Forward Learning Center, East Moline Public Library, Children’s Therapy Center, and Christ United Methodist Church’s food pantry.

The East Moline Community Fund has provided more than $180,000 in grants to support local nonprofits over the past decade.

Last year’s Taste of East Moline attracted hundreds of people and raised thousands of dollars to help the East Moline Community Fund.

This year, the East Moline Community Fund is partnering with the East Moline Main Street group. Proceeds will be split between the two nonprofits to benefit East Moline projects.

The Taste of East Moline will include food from 27 local restaurants, a cash bar and entertainment by Bobby Ray Bunch. Tickets are $30.
