Tap into fun, new brew at CASI’s Blarney Bash revival

Blarney Bash CASI

The Center for Active Seniors is urging Quad Citians to celebrate the return of its popular Blarney Bash by raising a glass of “Bad Betty Blonde” – a brand new brew created especially for CASI by its Blarney Bash partner Front Street Brewery.

This year’s 5:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, bash at the Front Street Brewery Taproom, located at the Freight House, 429 W. River Drive, Davenport, is one of two events CASI created to replace its former Holiday Hat Bash. The other was a successful new Blitzen Bash held last November.

“Fulfilling CASI’s mission for our community’s seniors is a big job,” CASI said in announcing the changes last year. “The proceeds from the new CASI bashes help us get the job done.”

Blarney Bash is making its return this month after a long hiatus. To celebrate, Front Street Brewery will tap the first-ever keg of CASI’s new “Bad Betty Blonde” blend. In addition, CASI said,  $1 per pour would go directly to CASI.

“Blarney Bash will be a Grand Old Gaelic Get-together with an important purpose!” CASI promises. “Join us for a fun evening with proceeds to support CASI and the thousands of seniors we serve throughout the year.”

Guest bartenders, who many partygoers will recognize, also will be pouring glasses throughout the evening, CASI said. No tickets are necessary to attend the event, so come and enjoy the evening with friends of CASI, the organization said.

St. Paddy’s race signups

In addition to the Bash on Feb. 27, CASI will launch the Blarney Bash Online Silent Action on Monday, Feb. 24. It will close at 8 p.m. on Feb. 27 at the Blarney Bash party. Look for more details about the auction here

The party also will feature registration signups for CASI’s 43rd St. Patrick’s Day Run/Walk on Saturday, March 15, through the streets of downtown Davenport. This fast, fun, and flat course is perfect for those who love running, and those who just love having fun and supporting Quad Cities area seniors, CASI said. The agency warns, however, to register by Friday, Feb. 28, to guarantee a race T-shirt.
