St. Ambrose University will dedicate the Jack and Pat Bush Stadium, 620 W. Central Park Ave., Davenport, during a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The event is open to the public. The dedication ceremony will be held during the halftime of the St. Ambrose football game at the stadium. That game begins at 1 p.m.
The ceremony will highlight the impact the Bush family has had on St. Ambrose University, Assumption High School, and Catholic education throughout the Quad Cities. The ceremony will include a special blessing and remarks from St. Ambrose University President Amy Novak.
The Bush family’s philanthropy has been instrumental in supporting Catholic education in the Quad Cities. Jack Bush, a 1944 graduate of the former St. Ambrose Academy and a former football player at the University of Notre Dame, along with his wife, Patricia, have long supported education and athletics.
In recognition of their commitment, the Bush family made a significant donation to name the shared stadium – which is used by both St. Ambrose University and Assumption High School – in their honor, according to information from St. Ambrose.
As part of the St. Vincent’s Athletic Complex, Jack and Pat Bush Stadium became the home of St. Ambrose football in the fall of 2023. The regulation-sized football field is surrounded by an eight-lane all-weather outdoor track giving the SAU track and field team an outdoor home. The venue also included a competition area for field events, bleachers and a building housing concessions, restrooms and a press box, according to information from St. Ambrose.
