St. Ambrose spring commencement is Saturday

St. Ambrose University in Davenport will hold its 2025 spring commencement ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday, May 17, at Vibrant Arena at the Mark in downtown Moline.

The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. St. Ambrose University President Amy Novak will preside over the celebration.

The Rev. Dennis Holtschneider will give the keynote addresses at the 2025 Spring Commencement ceremony on May 17. He will also be recognized with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree for his significant humanitarian efforts.

He is a Vincentian priest, and has dedicated his life to Catholic higher education and caring for vulnerable populations. Since 1985, he has been a professor and administrator at multiple universities rising to president of DePaul University in 2004, a position he held for more than a decade.

The university will confer a degree for undergraduate, master, and doctoral students. Doors will open for students and guests at 10 a.m. Student check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony is expected to last at least two hours. 

St. Ambrose will livestream the event from its website. Tickets are not required and there are no limitations on the number of guests allowed.
