CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, PLC has announced several new additions to its team of attorneys including four who are part of the firm’s expansion into the Quad Cities.

Shuttleworth & Ingersoll is one of Iowa’s largest law firms. It has added nine new attorneys to its offices in Cedar Rapids, Coralville and the new office in Davenport.
That local office began operations here on Nov. 17. It currently is located in temporary offices at 1900 E. 54th St. The office will serve both the Iowa and Illinois QC markets.
Details on the firm’s permanent Quad Cities office will be released in the coming months, the firm said in a news release.
The expansion gives Shuttleworth & Ingersoll its fourth fully staffed office with other primary locations in Cedar Rapids, Coralville, and Waterloo.
Among the new team members are four attorneys working out of Davenport. They are Martha Shaff, Jordan Kaplan, Cristy Tackett-Hunt and Reid Shepard.

He added “Our new Quad Cities presence allows us to foster new client relationships and deepen existing client relationships in and around the Quad Cities in both Iowa and Illinois. Martha, Jordan, Cristy and Reid provide us with a strong foundation on which to build and grow our presence in the Quad Cities.”

Davenport office

- Martha Shaff focuses her practice on civil litigation. She has decades of experience involving personal injury, products liability, and commercial, employment and construction matters. M. Shaff is a mediator for civil litigation disputes. That includes personal injury, employment and business matters. A member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Ms. Shaff has served as its Iowa chair and is a past president of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Iowa Defense Counsel.
- Jordan Kaplan is an experienced business attorney whose practice focuses on estate planning, probate and trust administration, probate and trust litigation, general business matters, and real estate. He is a member of the Quad Cities Estate Planning Council and past president of the Scott County Bar Association.
- Reid Shepard brings a focus on estate planning, probate and general business matters. Mr. Shepard attended the University of Iowa College of Law where he was an editor of the Iowa Law Review. He also was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Amanda Potterfield, then Paul B. Ahlers on the Iowa Court of Appeals.
- Cristy Tackett-Hunt joins the firm as of-counsel with more than 25 years of experience. Her work as a tax consultant for an international accounting firm and as in-house counsel for a private trust company led her to practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration and business law practice. Ms. Tackett-Hunt also serves as general counsel for a healthcare services company.

Cedar Rapids office
- Matthew Roth brings five years of experience in business, commercial litigation and long-term care defense. While attending the University of Iowa College of Law, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Edward M. Mansfield in the Iowa Supreme Court.
- Ben Louviere focuses on medical malpractice defense. He previously completed a two-year clerkship with the Honorable C.J. Williams in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. He is a 2023 alum of the University of Iowa Law School.
Coralville office
- Jim Annexstad is a former appellate judge and director of Civil Litigation in the United States Air Force. His practice primarily focuses on commercial, employment and environmental litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. He also advises businesses and government agencies on varied environmental, employment and labor issues.
- Laney Miller is a civil litigation attorney and recent graduate of the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. She was a summer clerk with the law firm in 2023 and 2024. While in law school, she also completed an externship with the 6th Judicial District of Iowa, clerking for Judge Chad Kepros and Judge Jason Bruns.
