SCORE, a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small business owners, and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are hosting a series of free seminars in the Quad Cities area for those interested in starting or improving their own business.
The first seminar, Finding and Focusing on an MVP: Modern Business Tools to Reduce Startup Costs & Test Your Idea, is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Kelinson Room in the Bettendorf Public Library.
Meet with representatives from SCORE and the SBDC of the Quad Cities to learn more about creating and sustaining your own business in the interactive program.
The second, Be Your Own Boss; Entrepreneur Tools, Tricks and Tips from SBDC & SCORE will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23; 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28; and 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 in Meeting Room B of the Davenport Public Library Eastern Branch.
Registration is in person at the beginning of the seminars, there are 24 seats available for each.
This workshop series meets every month, but participants can join at any time and do not have to have attended a previous session. Each month, the representatives discuss a different business topic to help you start and operate your business.
During the Sept. 23 session, the topic of discussion will be LLCs, S-Corps and C-Corps. Learn about each of these business structures and why it matters that you file for the correct structure.
