DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) announced Meg Schneider has been named vice president of strategic initiatives and member engagement. Her first day was Tuesday, April 23.

Ms. Schneider joins ABI after more than two decades serving members of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, most recently as senior vice president for business resources and community development. Ms. Schneider holds a bachelor of liberal studies from the University of Iowa and has certifications as a certified association executive (CAE) and institute for organization management (IOM) with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce brings a diverse skill set to the state’s oldest business organization.

“I have been a champion for Iowa Businesses for more than 2 decades, and I am excited to join the ABI team and continue that mission for its members,” said Ms. Schneider. “I come to this position with personal experience of benefiting from ABI programming, so it will be a full circle moment for me as now I will be on the other side of the equation delivering impactful initiatives for businesses across our entire state.”

 Her work will encompass both ABI and the workforce development and leadership programs of the ABI Foundation. She will be focused on maximizing existing partnerships and creating opportunities for members statewide.
