Scavenger Hunt supports work of Empowering Abilities

Empowering Abilities will hold a fun, family-friendly Scavenger Hunt fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 24 starting and ending at its 3402 Hickory Grove Road facility in northwest Davenport. 

The organization’s hunt will take place throughout the community and runs from 3-6 p.m. Food, drinks and prizes will be from 6-7 p.m. The doors open at 2 p.m. at Empowering Abilities. 

Scavenger Hunt teams will be provided with a list of things to complete, which include fun, educational and sometimes silly tasks. Each completed task earns points. Teams can consist of up to six people, but everyone must safely fit into one vehicle. The team must stay together the entire hunt.

Registration for the Empower Abilities event includes a T-shirt for those registrations received by Friday, Aug. 9 as well as food, beverages, and a chance to win prizes. 

The Scavenger Hunt team with the most points will receive an Iowa City football package including Iowa vs. Troy football tickets, $50 in gas gift cards, and a tailgate basket.  The second-place team will receive Fleet Feet gift cards.  Door prizes also will be available to hunt participants.
