SAL’s Little Bogey’s Golf Classic aids area community services

May 13 event benefits early care, education, immigrants

Dreaming of spring? Register today for SAL Community Services’ Little Bogey’s Golf Classic. The 28th annual outing will be held at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Illinois, on Monday, May 13.

The 2024 Little Bogey’s Golf Classic tees off at noon at Oakwood Country Club.

Money raised from the event will ensure that SAL can help communities across their bi-state, 17-county region thrive, the organization said in a news release.

“SAL has been working in the region for more than 50 years, and today we have expanded our services more than ever,” SAL President and CEO Marcy Mendenhall, said in the release. “Fundraisers like our Little Bogey’s Golf Classic and charitable gifts help us to enhance our services and expand our reach in building a strong community for every family in our region.”

Last year, support from Little Bogey’s sponsors and community members contributed nearly $35,000 to support SAL’s school-age programming.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be invested in children, families and individuals through SAL’s high-quality early care and education programs, child care resource and referral programs, and services for immigrants, refugees and English-language learners, the agency said.

Sponsorships and volunteer opportunities for the Little Bogey’s Golf Classic are available. Donations of prizes, silent auction and raffle items are also welcome. To sponsor the fundraiser or make a donation, contact Amber Wood at awood@salcommunityservices.org or (309) 429-5512.
