Davenport-based Russell announced that the construction and development firm is the winner of the 2025 AGC of Missouri Keystone Award for a project led by its St. Louis, Missouri, team.

Competing in the Under $20 Million category, Russell received the honor for the Lutheran High School South Jubel Center for the Arts

The prestigious award celebrates excellence in construction, honoring projects that exemplify innovation, collaboration, and craftsmanship while advancing the industry’s highest standards of quality and integrity.

Russell partnered with Lutheran High School South and Fox Architects, both in St. Louis, to deliver the Jubel Center for the Arts addition. The new facility features a 626-seat auditorium, FEMA-rated storm shelter and band room, dedicated art studio, administrative offices, and flexible collaboration spaces that support both creative and academic pursuits.

As the first performing arts theater for the school, founded in 1957, the Jubel Center redefines how students learn, perform, and connect with their community. Every detail, from lighting and acoustics to circulation and finishes, was intentionally designed, Russell said in a news release.

“Throughout the project, Russell demonstrated an exceptional understanding of our needs, proactively working with us to align construction activities with an active school environment,” said Jonathan Butterfield, Head of School at Lutheran High School South.

With 63,595 work hours involved, the project achieved zero OSHA recordables, zero lost-time injuries, and zero citations. Students were invited to tour the jobsite, gaining real-world insight into construction careers as they watched their new facility take shape.

“The Jubel Center stands as a testament to what can be achieved when design, construction, and purpose come together to create spaces that inspire,” Matthew Stack, president, St. Louis at Russell, said in the release.

Russell St. Louis is one of four national offices now operated by Russell, which was founded in 1983 in Bettendorf by Jim Russell. The firm has delivered more than $7 billion in projects across 34 states. For more information, visit www.russellco.com.
