Russell, a Midwest-based commercial construction and real estate development firm, has named Matt Sayre as its chief operating officer.
Mr. Sayre will oversee operations in all three markets, including the Quad Cities, St. Louis and Kansas City, according to a news release from Russell. He also will help Russell execute its strategic plan, ensure operations align with overall business objectives, and help to mentor and develop the next generation of leaders within the organization.
“This is an exciting time at Russell,” Caitlin Russell, the company’s president, said in the release. “Matt brings construction and development experience and leadership mastery to the chief operating officer role.

Mr. Sayre has more than 24 years of experience in the construction industry, serving in roles spanning executive leadership, project management and business development, according to the release. Prior to joining Russell, he most recently served as vice president of construction operations for multi-family and senior living at Ryan Companies in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he oversaw more than $1.4 billion in projects.

Mr. Sayre holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Minnesota State University, along with numerous other accolades, including being named as a Building Design & Construction Magazine 40 under 40 honoree in 2021. He also is a certified Eagle Scout.
