Royal Neighbors launches RoyalConnect

RoyalConnect

Royal Neighbors of America has announced the launch of RoyalConnect – a new program for its members designed to promote volunteerism and support local charities.

The Rock Island-based fraternal benefit society said RoyalConnect is a fun and flexible way for members to give back to their communities – providing new opportunities each month to complete a feel-good charitable act in one hour or less.

“RoyalConnect was strategically designed with several objectives that drive the Royal Neighbors’ mission of supporting women and serving communities,” Amy Jones, Royal Neighbors’ philanthropy director, said in a news release. “The program will increase familiarity with our mission among our members, but more importantly, it will challenge them to act upon it.”

She added: “We know through our research that connecting members to acts of service will illuminate purpose within and ignite an emotional bond to our mission.”

Through the new program, Royal Neighbors members can volunteer for the cause or nonprofit of their choice – or volunteer from a list of ideas based on challenge themes developed by Royal Neighbors, Ms. Jones said. For example, the theme could be “gratitude” and members can choose volunteer opportunities that are meaningful to their heart and local community.

As part of RoyalConnect, Royal Neighbors will donate $10 to a selected charity for every member that participates in a charitable act each month. All charities will be former recipients of Nation of Neighbors awards. Each month it will highlight a different recipient, some of whom have hailed from the Quad Cities region as well as across the nation.

Nation of Neighbors is Royal Neighbors’ signature women’s empowerment program that gives annual awards and grants to women who work to empower other women and girls through a nonprofit, business, or program.

“RoyalConnect will broaden our reach and create a ripple effect in the communities where our members live and raise their families,” added Ms. Jones. “We are working to provide our members with opportunities to create meaningful, measurable, and long-lasting impact.”

Founded in 1895, Royal Neighbors was launched as a membership organization by nine pioneering women who recognized the need to insure the lives of women and children. Now, with more than 250,000 members nationwide, it offers life insurance and annuity products to its members and is driven by its mission of supporting women and serving communities.
