Roundup welcomes new students to district

The Davenport Community School District will host Kindergarten Roundup on Wednesday, March 6, for all incoming kindergarteners for the 2024-2025 school year.

Kindergarten Roundup will be held at all district elementary schools and provides an opportunity for families to learn about the school, meet staff and receive information on registration and enrollment.

“The Davenport Community School District is excited to welcome a new class of kindergarteners to our district next year,” said Davenport Superintendent TJ Schneckloth in a news release.

“We know that parents often have a lot of questions regarding the transition to kindergarten, and Kindergarten Roundup is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the registration process as well as get to know the school in which your child will attend.”

Parents and guardians can find the time and location of Kindergarten Roundup at their neighborhood elementary school by visiting the district website at www.davenportschools.org/kindergarten.

“We can’t wait to meet our newest students at Kindergarten Roundup,” said Garfield Elementary School Principal Beth Evans. “Kindergarten Roundup is an exciting day as students meet teachers and staff and learn more about the rhythms and routines of Kindergarten.”

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will begin Monday, Feb. 19, for new and existing families.

Parents and guardians can register their children online at www.davenportschools.org/registration.

Registration is not required to attend Kindergarten Roundup.

Those with questions regarding Kindergarten Roundup may contact their neighborhood school. Contact information for all neighborhood schools can be found on www.davenportschools.org/kindergarten.
