Rock Island Police accepting applications 

The City of Rock Island Police Department is accepting applications for police officers.

Visit here to complete an online application. Applications are being accepted until 4 p.m. Friday, May 6.

The Rock Island Police Department said it is seeking individuals who have high moral character, who are motivated by a career of service, and who desire to make a difference in their community.

Candidates must be between 21 and 34 years old; have the knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four years of high school; and must be able to successfully pass the physical ability test, written and oral examinations, background security investigation, drug testing, psychological exam, and medical examination.

The physical ability and written testing will be conducted at the Rock Island Police Department at 1212 Fifth Ave. on Saturday, May 7. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and testing will follow at 10 a.m.
