The Rock Island Public Library Foundation will host its annual Food for Thought fundraiser from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Hauberg Estate Carriage House, 1300 24th St., Rock Island.
The event features heavy hors d’oeuvres from local chefs, complimentary beer, a cash bar, silent auction, mystery coffee/tea pull, and conversation. Participating restaurants include: Riverfront Grille, QC Coffee and Pancake House, Peaceful Palate, and Old Arthur’s BBQ Sauce.
The event is part of the foundation’s activities which include fundraising for the Watts-Midtown Branch, garden beautification, literacy programming, volunteer coordination and book sales.
Admission is $50 per person and includes food and drinks. Payments can be made online at the Foundation Eventbrite site, or at the door by cash, check or credit card. Transaction fees apply to Eventbrite ticket purchases.
