    The City of Rock Island’s golf courses, Highland Springs and Saukie, will open for the 2023 season on Sunday, April 2. The courses will open at 9 a.m., first-come, first served. 

    The Highland Springs Driving Range also will open with artificial mats. Beginning Sunday, tee times can be made for future days – up to seven days in advance – by calling Highland Springs at (309) 732-7265 or Saukie at (309) 732-2277.

     Saukie Golf Course is located in the heart of Rock Island at the intersection of 31st Avenue and 38th Street. Its 2023 season specials include: $26 for 18 rounds with a cart every day after 1 p.m. and Wednesdays are 2 for $40 after 1 p.m. Kids, age 6-14, are free with paid adult after 1 p.m.

    Highland Springs is located in southwest Rock Island at 9500 35th St. West. Its 2023 season specials include: Mondays, 2 for $50, after 1 p.m.; Mondays and Wednesdays, 18 holes with a cart for $31; and Fridays, 2 for 1 driving range buckets after 3 p.m. 

    Highland Springs and First Tee of the Quad Cities invite the public to an open house to celebrate the new Clubhouse and First Tee Classroom on Thursday, April 20, from 2-4 p.m. Celebrations will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, speeches, champagne toast, snacks and a cash bar.
