Riverdale to host Volunteer Recognition Banquet

The City of Riverdale will host its inaugural Volunteer Recognition Banquet at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Riverdale City Hall, 110 Manor Drive.

For the first time in its 72-year history, the city will formally recognize its community volunteers. Volunteers who donated time in 2022 will be honored.

The list includes 58 individuals ranging in age from 7 to 81, who resided as close as Riverdale to as far away as Black Earth, Wisconsin; and those who volunteered for a handful of hours to those who volunteered for more than 38 years.

Dinner is being catered by DeBord Catering, LLC, Moline, and includes three courses.

Riverdale Mayor Anthony Heddlesten will deliver a welcome address and recognize each person’s contributions to the city. He also will name a Volunteer of the Year 2022, along with a Lifetime Achievement Award to a resident.
