River Bend Food Bank has adjusted its holiday schedule for its food pantries at NorthPark and SouthPark Mall, including extending hours leading up to the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The schedules are:
- NorthPark Mall Pantry – Monday, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, noon – 6 p.m. It is clsed Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 31.
- SouthPark Mall Pantry – Tuesday, Dec. 23 and 30, noon – 6 p.m. Is is closed Thursday, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1
Regular mall pantry hours will resume on Monday, Jan. 5. The full schedule is available here.
Chris Ford, River Bend’s president and CEO, expressed his gratitude to the volunteers and staff who make the pantries successful.
“Offering extended hours during crucial holiday weeks is only possible thanks to the dedication of committed volunteers and River Bend Food Bank staff who ensure our shelves are filled and our doors are open to our neighbors who need it,” Mr. Ford said.
The food bank also is seeking more volunteers. Those interested in assisting guests at the pantries or helping by sorting and packing food at a River Bend Food Bank facility can sign up at riverbendfoodbank.org/volunteer. Pantry volunteers must be at least 10 years old, with those under 16 accompanied by a registered adult. Volunteers sorting produce must be at least 16.
