RI Rotary’s past president named district Rotarian of the Year

Rock Island Rotary captured two district awards recently. CREDIT ROCK ISLAND ROTARY

Cindi Gramenz, immediate past president of Rock Island Rotary Club 3093, received the District Rotarian of the Year award recently from former District 6240 Gov. Laura Kann.

Ms. Kann, who just completed her tenure as head of the district for the 2022-23 year, presented the etched-glass District Rotarian of the Year award at the group’s weekly meeting at the Quad Cities Botanical Center in Rock Island on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

District 6420 is made up of 43 clubs in northwest Illinois and boasts more than 1,400 members. Ms. Kann, who is currently the District 6420 Rotary International Foundation chair, also presented the Rock Island Club with an award for achieving its membership goals for the past year. Only five of the northwest district’s clubs received the award in 2023.

In accepting the District Rotarian of the Year Award, Ms. Gramenz credited Rock Island Rotary members for the Rock Island Club 3093’s success.

In addition to her work with rotary, Ms. Gramenz is the operations manager for Christian Care in Rock Island.
