RI Mayor Harris to offer inaugural State of the City on Jan. 29

    Rock Island Mayor Ashley Harris will deliver his 2026 State of the City Address on Thursday, Jan. 29, at Bally’s Quad Cities Casino and Hotel in Rock Island. 

    The address, which will be in Bally’s Event Center, will begin at 12:15 p.m. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. 

    Attendees have the option to purchase lunch for $10 by pre-registering here by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28.

    Mr. Harris will focus on the “Commitment to Community” theme. He will highlight the city’s accomplishments over the past year and outlining goals for 2026.

    “I look forward to presenting my first State of the City address, focusing on the City’s Commitment to Community through programs, economic opportunities and investing in our residents,” the mayor said in a news release.

    The address will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube page with assistance from dphilms. It will be available for later viewing on the City’s website and Facebook page.
