Five area restaurant workers have been honored for their hard work, devotion, perseverance, care and positive attitudes as part of the recent QC Restaurant Week.

Visit Quad Cities, which organizes the annual campaign, received nearly 500 entries to award local workers in the restaurant industry, according to a recent announcement. Each worker was surprised with their award during the week-long event, which took place March 20-26.

This year’s QC Restaurant Week award recipients are:

“The last three years have been extremely tough on the restaurant industry,” Visit Quad Cities Public Relations and Marketing Manager Jessica Waytenick told the QCBJ. “Last year, we added the recognition of servers to QC Restaurant Week and received so many wonderful nominations. This year, the nominations more than tripled.”

Each year, QC Restaurant Week showcases several area restaurants to give Quad Citians and visitors a better look at what the region has to offer. Ms. Waytenick said Visit Quad Cities also likes to recognize the restaurant worker nominees who provide excellent customer service every day to create great experiences for Quad Citians and visitors alike.

“Our visitor experience is closely tied to the success of our local restaurants,” she said. “Visit Quad Cities wants to shine a spotlight on our local restaurants and a week dedicated to them is a fun way to get Quad Citizens involved.”
