U.S. Rep. Eric Sorensen, D-Moline, will host a roundtable conversation for Quad Cities area veterans and advocates on Tuesday, Jan. 23, in East Moline.
The roundtable will be held from 2:30 to 3 p.m. at the American Veterans (AMVETS) Center, 827 15th Ave.
The roundtable will provide a space for area veterans and advocates to discuss their needs and challenges, and for Mr. Sorensen to highlight his work to support vets in Congress, according to a news release. This includes the Autonomy for All Disabled Veterans Act that Mr. Sorensen introduced last year to increase grant awards for disabled veterans to modify their homes to fit their needs.
The congressman serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Prior to serving in Congress, the release states, Mr. Sorensen was a meteorologist in Rockford and the Quad Cities for nearly 20 years. His district includes the Illinois Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria and Bloomington-Normal.
