Junior Achievement of the Heartland and RSM US LLP are teaming up to present the JA Stock Market Challenge.
It’s a simulation-based program in which high school students compete by investing and trading fake funds in the real market. They also create draft portfolios as teams, and finalize their stock selections.
This event will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University, Davenport. Go here to register for this event.
“JA Stock Market Challenge is an exciting JA educational offering,” Dougal Nelson, JA of the Heartland’s president and CEO, said in a news release. “This learning experience is building future leaders by bringing to life buying and selling stocks.”
JA Stock Market Challenge introduces high school students to the basic concepts of how the stock market works and the impact of current events on the market. Students discover the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy and the risks and rewards of trading.
Registration is now open. There is a $300 fee per team. Company participants in the event will receive two drink tickets, hors d’oeuvres and the chance to win the coveted JA Stock Market Challenge traveling trophy and bragging rights for your company.
JA of the Heartland and RSM US LLP have also teamed up to present the JA Take Stock in Your Future program. Students must complete a minimum of three lessons prior to the competition.
