Registration is already underway for Floatzilla 2024 – the largest paddle event on the Mississippi River – and early birds have a chance to win prizes.

After Sunday, March 31, registration for the River Action Inc. event will increase from $25 to $30 so organizers are urging participants to sign up early.

In addition, all registrations submitted before month’s end will be entered to win either a Thule Hull-a-Port Pro rooftop kayak carrier or a BOTE five-piece adjustable kayak paddle. The winners will be announced on Monday, April 1.

This year’s Floatzilla will be Saturday, Aug. 17. Once again, the event hopes to break the world record for largest raft of canoes and kayaks by gathering 3,151.

Other festivities include a free Kayak Fishing Tournament from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16. Lake Potter in Rock Island’s Sunset Park will host live music on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. along with a post-party.
