QCBJ to host Fastest Growing Companies event

The Quad Cities Regional Business Journal will recognize its first Fastest Growing Companies honorees at an event next week.

The region’s most dynamic companies that have made significant contributions to the strength of the local economy will be unveiled at the QCBJ’s Fastest Growing Companies reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Bally’s Quad Cities, 777 Bally Boulevard, Rock Island.

“This event is essentially a localized version of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America,” said John F. Lohman, group publisher for the QCBJ. “Celebrating entrepreneurship and the success of private enterprise is the foundation of this event.”

At the inaugural event, the top 15 winners will be recognized and the CEO from the No. 1 Fastest Growing Company will share the company’s story.

The honorees, listed alphabetically, are: C&W Transport Solutions, Davenport; Crawford Co., Rock Island; Greenspace Associates, Inc., Bettendorf; Gullickson Group, Davenport; IMEG Corp., Rock Island; Jewell Group, Davenport; JP Sports & Management LLC, Moline; Ecogistics, Moline; Quad City Ambulatory Surgery Center, Moline; Revive at the Group LLC, Davenport; Schroeder Associates, Davenport; Shaw Electric, Inc., Davenport; Spring Park Surgery Center LLC, Davenport; Tri-City Electric Co. of Iowa, Davenport; and Wallace’s Garden Center, Bettendorf.

Honorees, which were nominated or self-nominated, are being ranked according to revenue growth over a two-year period with both dollar and percentage increases being taken into account.

The QCBJ, a publication of the Corridor Media Group, partnered with Honkamp Krueger PC who confidentially accepted the nominations and calculated all the nominees’ percentage growth from 2019-2021 and the rankings.

“Fastest Companies don’t necessarily mean the most profitable,” said Mr. Lohman. “But they do provide a glimpse of the economic vitality that they are producing in the region.”

Applications for the Fastest Growing designation were accepted from companies headquartered in Rock Island, Henry and Mercer counties in Illinois and Scott, Clinton and Muscatine counties in Iowa. To be eligible, companies have to be for-profit entities with revenues of at least $350,000 in each of the fiscal years ending 2019, 2020 and 2021. The companies also had to show revenue growth in 2021, as compared to 2019 (a two-year period).

The event is sponsored by IMEG, Honkamp Krueger & Co., Russell, Travero and Women Lead Change.
