QCBJ nomination deadline for Forty Under 40 awards extended to July 16

Forty Under 40

The Quad Cities Regional Business Journal is accepting nominations through Tuesday, July 16, for its 2024 Forty Under 40 awards.

The annual awards and recognition event honors 40 young professionals who are making a difference in the Quad Cities region – in their workplaces, through their charitable work or in their communities.

This marks the third year the QCBJ, launched in late 2021 by the Corridor Media Group, has hosted the Forty Under 40 awards. An evening banquet and awards ceremony will be on Thursday, Sept. 19 at Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center in downtown Bettendorf.

“We are excited to continue the amazing momentum we have had with the Forty Under Awards in the Quad Cities these past two years,” said John Lohman, CEO and president of the Corridor Media Group, which publishes the QCBJ. “We have over 500 attendees for each of the past two events.”

Nominations are open to any deserving young professional who will be under the age of 40 as of Sept. 20, 2024. Nominees must reside or work in the QCBJ’s news coverage area, which includes Scott, Muscatine and Clinton counties in Iowa or Rock Island, Henry and Mercer counties in Illinois.

Profiles of the 40 winners will be published in the Sept. 2 edition of the QCBJ.

Candidates can be self-nominated or be nominated by a boss, a colleague, a friend or others. To nominate a deserving young professional, fill out the nomination form here. You also can visit quadcitiesbusiness.com and click on the Submit or Events tab.

Nominations require basic biographical information including a resume or bio as well as a statement of qualifications. Please also submit one or more letters of recommendation. All nominations must be submitted online by Friday, July 12.

“These awards are an excellent way to showcase and celebrate the great young leaders that the Quad Cities has,” Mr. Lohman said. “Don’t wait to nominate someone worthy today.”

The new class of honorees will be chosen by a selection committee made up of a group of the 2023 Forty Under 40 honorees. The committee will select the new class based on their civic/philanthropic activities and will choose a minimum of 15 honorees from Iowa and from Illinois.

Elected officials are eligible for the recognition, but the awards are nonpartisan and nonpolitical.

“We are hopeful that these awards will continue to serve an important purpose of recognizing and celebrating young leaders, especially as the region embarks on the important role of trying to attract and retain workers,” said Mr. Lohman.

The awards are presented by the QCBJ. The event is sponsored by our Platinum Sponsor, Augustana College; and Gold Sponsor RSM. For more information on sponsoring this event, contact Lauren Grask at (319) 665-6397 or [email protected]

The awards dinner will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center. Cost is $75 for an individual and $575 for a table of eight. The honorees who are selected will receive a complimentary ticket.
