
The Quad Cities Regional Business Journal will host its second annual Health Care Symposium to help attendees better understand changes in the region’s health care landscape.
The event, first launched by the QCBJ in 2024, will be from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center in downtown Bettendorf. Register at quadcitiesbusiness.com/health-care-symposium/, located under the QCBJ’s Events tab.
The luncheon event will include presentations from Quad Cities area health care leaders and providers, whose expertise spans community health, mental health and behavioral health. Presentations begin with a look at areas of opportunity identified through the 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment including mental health, and workplace wellness.
Presenters include:
- Nicole Carkner, executive director of Quad City Health Initiative.
- Rich Whitaker, CEO of Vera French.
- Haley DeGreve, a John Deere communications manager and the founder of The Gray Matters Collective, a mental health awareness organization and suicide prevention movement.

The event includes the program, lunch and networking before and after the symposium.
The symposium also will include a panel discussion, which will address employee wellness programs. Panelists will include:
- Matthew DeBisschop, SVP of human resources and government affairs, Ascentra Credit Union, Bettendorf.
- Morgan Milner, assistant general counsel, Modern Woodmen of America, Rock Island.
- Bobbi Jo Cox, director of human resources for McCarthy-Bush Corporation, Davenport.
- Kathleen Richlen, the City of Bettendorf’s human resources director.
The event begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. at the convention center at 2021 State St., Bettendorf.
