The Aledo Opera House continues to collect rave reviews and shows no sign of slowing down.
“As we look towards 2026, we’re excited to expand and enhance our entertainment offerings while refining what makes us unique,” Director of Operations Nathan Sipes told the QCBJ.
Take its “wonderful” lineup of concerts featuring bands and solo artists. “Our sound system is certainly up to the task of producing rumbling lows, crisp highs, and everything in between,” Mr. Sipes said. “However, it’s also remarkable to see the space transformed into a listening lounge when a songwriter takes the stage. “
Then there is the impressive list of new films airing at a small-town theater that once had trouble attracting them. Mr. Sipes said the venue also is “excited to offer much-loved classic film programming” that has attracted old fans and created new ones.
To Visit Quad Cities President & CEO Dave Herrell “The Aledo Opera House is one of the most unique entertainment venues and destination assets in the region.”
He added “The re-imagination of such an important landmark to historic downtown Aledo activates this neighborhood with unique and a diverse set of programming. The team did an amazing job of preserving the historical integrity of a beautiful and important building while creating a modernized venue for residents and visitors to enjoy.”
Mr. Herrell also said the 1904 theater “and its vibrancy only add to the thriving Quad Cities arts and culture scene.” Take the recent standing-room-only Mercer County Art Gala and a growing list of corporate events.
Mr. Sipes also hopes to add more live performances and theater productions to next year’s playbill. “All of the details are still being ironed out, but I can confidently say that we’re going to be bringing a diverse set of high-quality entertainment to the region next year.”
