The Quad Cities Community Foundation has launched a campaign to match any new gift to an endowment fund held at the foundation.
The campaign will match up to $500 per household with a total of $50,000 in donor gifts to be matched.
The match fund campaign opened at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, and will close once all $50,000 in matching funds have been claimed.
“The $100,000 in total giving made possible through this challenge will strengthen the causes that matter most to our community,” Sue Hafkemeyer, the foundation’s president and CEO, said in a news release Tuesday. “Moments like this inspire us all. It’s a reminder of the power of generosity and an opportunity to make your giving go further.”
Since 1964, the Community Foundation has championed the causes and organizations that make the Quad Cities region a great place to live, work, and play. Stewarding the giving of generous community members, the Community Foundation supports grants for vital nonprofits, scholarships for local students, and funding for a wide range of community resources – from parks and music venues to food banks and health services. Endowment funds provide steady, predictable charitable resources that will allow this important work to continue for generations to come, according to the foundation.
“These matched gifts will continue to fuel annual support for our local nonprofits through the enduring power of endowment,” said Ms. Hafkemeyer. “A gift to the Community Foundation is a gift for today, and an investment in our shared future.”
This matching opportunity applies to new gifts made by cash, check, or credit card.
