Riverbend Signworks of Bettendorf has been acquired by Promotion Support Services (PSS), the Quad Cities companies announced.
Greg Holmquist, the owner of Promotion Support Services and Dimensional Graphics, both Davenport, purchased Riverbend Signworks from Brad and Mary Jo Morrison on Oct. 31, according to a news release issued Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Riverbend Signworks is located at 979 40th Ave., Bettendorf. PSS is located at 1320 W. Kimberly Road, where Dimensional Graphics occupies Suite 2.
PSS was founded by Brooks Walker and Dave Bender in 1989. The company’s Davenport location has 65,000 square feet of FDA-registered office and warehouse space. Some of its services include transcription, printing and mailing and packaging services, according to the company website.
Founded in 2012 by the Morrisons, Riverbend Signworks has experienced rapid growth by providing tailored solutions that focus on quality products and premium customer service.
Mr. Morrison, who holds an M.B.A. from Central Michigan University and has held various leadership roles throughout his career, expressed his satisfaction with the journey: “Starting a business from the ground up was an exciting and challenging journey, especially during the pandemic. Successfully navigating these obstacles to grow the business into what it is today has been exceptionally rewarding.”
He added: “It is crucial for us that Riverbend Signworks continue to thrive and that our valued employees and customers would remain well-supported. I am confident that Greg will enhance the business and elevate it to new heights.”
Many of Riverbend’s creations can be seen across the QC including:
- Exterior signs on businesses, such as Grace Engineering in Davenport.
- Interior signs, such as lobby signs and wall graphics. Some of those recent creations are in schools in Clinton, Iowa, and Galesburg, Illinois.
- The family business worked on the new downtown Davenport Richard Bittner YMCA. It designed, created and executed/installed exterior signs, room signs, wall graphics, hanging signs, lobby signs, mission statements, dimensional letters and window graphics.
- One of the more high visibility projects was the TBK Sports Complex. The company’s work included design to installation of the exterior, wayfinding, room, environmental graphics and interior signage.
- Vehicle wraps advertising a company or organization. Riverbend recently put wraps on two vans for Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa.
For three years, Riverbend Signworks has been named the Best Sign Company in the QCBJ’s Best of the Region. It earned the title in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
