A longtime Caesars Rewards member, identified only as Michael, struck a life-changing $1.2 million jackpot on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Hotel & Casino becoming the first winner of Iowa’s new multi-casino progressive jackpot.
Caesars Entertainment announced Friday, Feb. 13, that Michael won the massive prize by hitting a royal flush while playing Ultimate Texas Hold’em. The historic win links progressive jackpots across several Caesars Entertainment properties in Iowa, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs Hotel & Casino, Horseshoe Council Bluffs, Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf, and Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo.
The winner has been a loyal Caesars Rewards member for more than 30 years, with his loyalty dating back to the Harveys Council Bluffs era, a Caesars news release said.
Thomas Roberts, senior vice president and general manager for Harrah’s and Horseshoe Council Bluffs, offered his congratulations.
“Michael embodies what makes our Caesars Rewards community so special,” Mr. Roberts said. “We’re thrilled to celebrate this incredible jackpot with him and thank him for choosing to play with us for so many years.”
The new multi-casino progressive jackpot links several Caesars Entertainment properties across Iowa, offering players the chance to win increasingly larger prizes on a variety of table games. Caesars Entertainment has been a mainstay in Iowa for many years, offering gaming and entertainment.
