Practivated CEO to headline Success in Fundraising conference

    Nonprofit fundraising professionals from across the Quad Cities region are invited to a full-day conference, Success in Fundraising: Rooted & Resilient, presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Quad Cities. 

    The local chapter’s Tuesday, April 16, conference aims to help attendees strengthen their fundraising effectiveness and elevate the impact of local organizations. It will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 16, at the Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf. 

    The keynote speaker will be Mallory Erickson, the founder and CEO of Practivated, host of the What the Fundraising podcast, and author of the book by the same name. Ms. Erickson is known nationally for transforming how nonprofit professionals build donor relationships and lead with confidence, clarity, and alignment.

    Success in Fundraising will feature three tailored tracks – Newcomer, Mid-Career, and Seasoned – and offer hands-on guidance in donor communication, strategic fundraising, systems design, and planned giving for fundraisers at every career stage. 

    Ms. Erickson also will lead exclusive breakout sessions, giving Quad Cities fundraisers direct access to one of the sector’s most influential voices and offering regional nonprofits a powerful

    opportunity to invest in their teams’ growth.

    Among the local speakers are: Missy Gowey, CEO, Better Health Foundation; Lysa Hegland, president/CEO, Junior Achievement of the Heartland; Amy Jones, senior director of social impact, Royal Neighbors of America; Jen Osing, executive director of World Relief Quad Cities; Paul Plagenz, president/CEO, Moline Regional Community Foundation; Linda Wastyn, president of Wastyn & Associates; and Rachel Pitchford, analyst & marketing consultant, Life Advisors, LLC.

    Conference tickets are $35 for AFP members, $55 for non-members through Tuesday, March 31. The price increases to $60 for all attendees beginning Wednesday, April 1. 

    AFP Chapter President Micaela Booth (John Deere Classic Birdies for Charity executive director) said last year’s conference drew about 100 attendees and organizers are hoping to increase attendance this year. 

    The event includes breakfast, lunch, networking, and three customized breakout tracks.
