PBU’s mission, the brothers say, is “to provide positive life skills that help individuals turn their lives around and contribute to the future wellbeing of themselves, their families and their communities.”

That includes through providing:

  • Instruction on positive life skills for at-risk youth.
  • Staffed facilities, equipment and supplies necessary to provide those skills.
  • Opportunities for participants to engage in positive recreational activities and to sponsor, host and/or participate in events that promote positivity.

The programs that are provided by the PBU at its new outreach center include:

  • The Youth Building Program (YBP) that will employ growth mindset activities, educational and recreational opportunities, a Stop Violence Campaign and Community Service Credit.
  • Self-Empowerment Meetings are designed for self improvement and to teach community engagement skills as well as connecting participants to available programs that offer pathways opportunities.
  • Computer Lab and Research Library to help with work readiness and soft skills development. It also provides online computer access to helpful links and self-help training materials.
  • Food and Clothing Assistance for men, women and children in need. Food delivery also is available to those 65 and older and people with disabilities.
