ORA Orthopedics and  UnityPoint Health – Trinity hospitals have announced an exclusive partnership deal, effective today, Dec. 18.

Under this deal, ORA will continue to provide full orthopedic coverage at UnityPoint Health – Trinity hospitals in Bettendorf, Rock Island and Moline.

As previously announced, ORA will no longer provide orthopedic emergency or trauma coverage at MercyOne Genesis East (Davenport) and MercyOne Genesis Illini (Silvis) hospitals. (ORA Orthopedics announced on Monday, Sept. 22, that it will end its partnership with MercyOne Genesis effective Dec. 18, and stop orthopedic emergency and trauma service at the two area hospitals.)

In announcing the new partnership Wednesday, Dec. 17, ORA said in a news release “These decisions were made to stay true to ORA’s mission of local leadership, local decision-making, and patient-first care. The partnership with UnityPoint Health Trinity aligns with ORA’s values and commitment to advanced, high-quality orthopedic care.”

“ORA Orthopedics is excited to align with UnityPoint Health – Trinity hospitals, which shares our values, dedication and commitment to advanced quality orthopedic care,” Ken Brockman, the CEO of ORA Orthopedics, headquartered in Bettendorf. “With its nationally recognized program, excellent care teams and cutting-edge surgical suites, Trinity offers the ideal environment to elevate the level of care we provide. Together, we are ensuring the Quad Cities remains a regional leader in advanced, minimally invasive orthopedic care.”

ORA Orthopedics and UnityPoint Health – Trinity have experienced an extraordinary surge in patients – case volumes more than doubled from January to November 2025.

“This remarkable growth is not just a number; it is a testament to the combined team’s ability to rapidly expand and elevate orthopedic care,” said Shawn Morrow, UnityPoint Health – Trinity Market president.

Mr. Morrow added this collaboration reflects a commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare and ensures people in our community have continued access to innovative and high-quality care right in the Quad Cities.

The partnership comes as ORA is building  a new $50 million, state-of-the-art clinic and outpatient surgery center in northern Bettendorf. The new 113,000-square-foot medical facility and administrative headquarters will be located next to the TBK Bank Sports Complex on Competition Drive, Bettendorf. It will replace ORA’s Bettendorf current clinic and surgery center at 2300 53rd Ave., which will remain operational until the new orthopedic campus is constructed.

The new facility is estimated to be completed in early 2026.

ORA Orthopedics is an independent physician-led medical practice providing an integrated continuum of orthopedic care that includes sub-specialty clinics, convenient walk-in care at their Urgent OrthoCARE clinics, advanced diagnostic imaging, bracing, physical therapy, and outpatient surgery.

UnityPoint Health is one of the nation’s most integrated health systems, providing care to both metropolitan and rural communities across the Midwest.
