Nominations are now being sought for the third annual induction class of the Clinton County Walk of Fame.
The Walk of Fame highlights the county’s impact on the world while inspiring the community to make a difference, according to a news release from organizers.
The public is encouraged to nominate successful and accomplished people who meet the nomination criteria, including:
- Having a significant tie to Clinton County, such as being born or living in the county and making an impact locally, nationally or abroad.
- Having values and characteristics that demonstrate a significant, positive impact in their field of work or to Clinton County.
Individuals may be nominated for the following five categories: fine arts, professional achievement, military, athletics or humanitarian acts.
To submit a nomination, the form — which may be found here — must be fully completed, including the nominator’s and nominee’s contact information, the nomination category and an essay (with a maximum of 500 words) explaining how the nominee fits selection criteria and why they should be honored. Additional materials to support the essay — such as newspaper articles or awards — are encouraged, the release states.
Class members will be selected based on merit, not endorsements. Nominators may nominate a maximum of three individuals. The committee will notify honorees or their families, and an induction ceremony and reception will be held at Eagle Point Lodge on Sunday, Sept. 22, the release states.
The deadline for nominations is 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 1. Nominations may be sent to Grow Clinton, 721 S. Second St., Clinton, IA 52732 Attn: Matt Parbs.
