A new University of Iowa Health Care urgent care clinic has opened in Davenport, and a second clinic is in the works for Bettendorf.

The walk-in clinic at 2705 E. 53rd St., Davenport, opened on Tuesday, Jan. 23, with hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday; and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Patients of all ages can be seen at any UI Health Care urgent care location.

The clinic phone number is (563) 362-3052. Even though it is a walk-in clinic, patients can reserve an appointment by going here.

A second clinic is scheduled to open in Bettendorf later this year. That clinic site has not been disclosed.

“Our goal is to provide more convenient access and continuity of care for our patients and employees who live in the Quad Cities area,” Dr. Douglas Van Daele, vice dean for clinical affairs, Carver College of Medicine, said in a news release. “By increasing same-day care access, we’re showing our commitment to keeping health care local wherever we can.”

Clinics such as this act as an access point for patients to connect with the world-class, excellent care of UI Health Care. The health system already has locations in the Quad Cities that provide family medicine, dermatology, cancer care, pediatric specialty care and more, according to information from the University of Iowa.

Urgent cares are walk-in clinics that provide care for minor illnesses and injuries and typically have shorter wait times than a busy emergency room. These clinics will provide services that go beyond a typical walk-in clinic, including IV fluids, stitches and X-rays.
