Rock Valley Physical Therapy is again stretching its reach with the addition of River Rehab Physical Therapy in Muscatine, Iowa, to its family of 60-plus Midwest clinics next month.
In a news release, Rock Valley Physical Therapy CEO Mike Horsfield announced that it has acquired River Rehab’s clinic at 2008 Cedar Plaza Drive. Effective Tuesday, Nov. 4, River Rehab will become Rock Valley Physical Therapy.
The move unites the two long-standing physical therapy entities in the Muscatine region. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. River Rehab has a five-person team.
“Aaron and Susan Eversmeyer purchased River Rehab in 2004 believing that great care – coupled with compassion – would result in a successful business,’’ Mr. Horsfield said. “And they were right. This recipe has resulted in them building a business and team that has served the Muscatine community for 21 years. It is always an honor when someone chooses us to take care of their company, co-workers, and patients.’’
According to the Eversmeyers, allowing Rock Valley to watch over something that means so much to both of them was not a decision they took lightly. But last March, the couple learned they would be grandparents for the first time.
Mr. Eversmeyer, PT, CEAS, will continue working as a therapist full-time with Rock Valley. Ms. Eversmeyer, who was involved in running the clinic, plans to spend more time with her grandchild.
“After years of being competitors, our discussions with the owners of Rock Valley made us realize we have many more similarities than we do differences,’’ the Eversmeyers added in the release.
According to its website, River Rehab has been locally owned since 1979.
The acquisition will give Rock Valley Physical Therapy a total of three locations in Muscatine and a total of 12 clinics across eastern Iowa supporting patients in the region.
