Muscatine Arts Council hosts Garden Tour fundraiser June 14

MUSCATINE, Iowa — The Muscatine County Arts Council will hold its first Garden Tour fundraiser noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14, featuring five gardens in Muscatine.

The tour will include the Stanley Center For Peace & Security, Muscatine Pollinator Park, Japanese Gardens at Muscatine Art Center (featuring refreshments and live music), Weed Park Rose & Zoo Gardens, and the Historic West Hill Olson Private Gardens (offering refreshments and live painting).

Ed Chamberlin, the arts council president, highlighted the area’s thriving arts community. The tour’s theme, “Come into the Gardens!,” is inspired by a painting by Muscatine artist Jim Elias, whose artwork is featured on exclusive souvenir merchandise such as tote bags and coffee mugs.

Pre-ordered tickets are available in packages: a Couples/Friends Package ($100), a Tote Package ($50), a Coffee Mug Package ($35), and single tickets ($20). Single ticket prices increased to $30 after the pre-order date of Monday, May 26.

Proceeds will benefit the Muscatine County Arts Council’s programs, including the Eagles & Ivories Music Festival, Art Array exhibition, Wandering Words Poetry Competition, and the Second Sunday Summer Concert Series.

Tickets and more information can be found at the Muscatine Garden Tour website.
