Moline Mayor Rayapati will seek a second term

Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati announced on Wednesday, July 31, her candidacy for a second term as Moline’s mayor.

Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati announced on Wednesday, July 31, her candidacy for a second term as Moline’s mayor.

“We are a work in progress and headed in the right direction,” she said in a news release. “After stabilizing staffing and creating and executing a strategy for improvement, we continue laying the foundation for success in the near and distant future.”  

Ms. Rayapati, who was raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania, has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and music from Valparaiso University and further studies at the University of Minnesota. She also currently teaches at Augustana College in Rock Island, where she leads the voice faculty and advises the pre-music therapy program and Aging Studies Minor.
