grants Moline Regional Foundation

The board of Moline Regional Community Foundation this month approved transitioning to one annual grant cycle that will cover its Community Action Grant and the Make A Difference Grant.

Historically, the organization has had two grant cycles – one in the fall and one in the spring. The foundation changed its name as part of a rebranding in September 2023 to better reflect its multi-county, bi-state scope and inspire more Quad Citians to give.

“Changing to one annual grant cycle with two categories of grant awards allows the Moline Regional Community Foundation the opportunity to have a more significant impact on the lives of area residents,” Paul Plagenz, the foundation’s president and CEO, said in a news release.

The Community Action Grant covers requests of $5,000-$24,999 for program or capital expenses. The Make a Difference Grant covers requests of $25,000-$50,000 for special initiatives, expanded programming, or capital expenses.

All charitable nonprofits, regardless of the timing of historic grant awards, are eligible to apply.  The new grant process opened Wednesday, Aug. 21, and closes Friday, Sept. 20. To begin the application process follow this link.

The Moline Regional Community Foundation awards grants for capital and program funding to nonprofit, charitable organizations in the areas of Arts & Culture, Community & Economic Development, Education, Environmental & Conservation, and Health & Human Services. The foundation’s service region includes these counties: Scott County in Iowa and in Illinois, Rock Island, Henderson, Henry, McDonough and Mercer counties. Organizations and institutions funded primarily through tax support do not qualify.
