The Moline Centre Program will host a watch party in downtown’s historic Skinner Block Courtyard to greet the arrival of cars and trucks in the annual Great Race multi-state road rally.
The Great Race Watch Party will be noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at the Skinner Block Courtyard, 1520 River Drive, next to River House Bar & Grill.
Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair to hang out on the patio, sponsored by Simply Amish Interiors. (Some seating available).
The watch party is free to attend with food and beverages available for purchase.
The 2025 Great Race road rally will begin Saturday, June 21, in St. Paul, Minnesota, and take participants on a 2,300-mile route through 10 states in nine days. The Sunday overnight stop in Moline is one of 17 city stops for the drivers and their crews on their way to the finish line – and a $160,000 purse — in South Carolina. The Great Race is a time, speed, endurance rally for classic cars and trucks.
For its Moline stop, more than 100 antique and classic cars will arrive from Iowa on the Interstate 74 Bridge at approximately 4:30 p.m. and pass by the Skinner Block Courtyard on their way to John Deere Commons.
The Watch Party provides a front-row view of the cars’ arrival as you enjoy food, beverages, and live music. Local classic cars also will be on display on River Drive, along with the Great Race cars and trucks that will be on display for two hours after the final car arrives.
Hospitality during the watch party is provided by River House Bar & Grill, Bent River Brewing Company, and Lagomarcino’s (ice cream). Food and beverages (non-alcoholic) may also be purchased from Bad Boyz Pizza, Dead Poet’s Espresso, and Little Brown Box Deli for consumption in the courtyard.
The Great Race overnight stop is made possible by the City of Moline and Visit Quad Cities, and the Great Race Watch Party is presented by the Moline Centre Program and Renew Moline. Additional watch party support is provided by Bent River Brewing Co., Dead Poet’s Espresso, Old National Bank, Simply Amish Interiors, and Wyndham Moline on John Deere Commons.
