Molina Healthcare of Illinois is teaming up with Focus On Our Community Inc. to host a back-to-school backpack giveaway from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Hereford Park, 400 13th St., East Moline.
This family-friendly event will feature bounce houses, music, and a community basketball game in celebration of the new school year. Molina will be donating food and backpacks filled with school supplies, games, and prizes.
In a news release, Molina Healthcare cited these statistics:
- An estimated 15% of the population lives below the poverty line in East Moline.
- This year, the average family is expected to spend $875 on back-to-school supplies.
Through this event, Molina hopes to support Quad Cities families to build stronger communities, one life at a time.
